Richard Jay provides Adelaide business with four state-of-the-art laundromats

Building lasting relationships and anticipating our customers’ needs are a huge part of what we do here at Richard Jay – which is why we were delighted to hear what one of our long-term clients had to say about the huge benefits we’ve brought to his business.

For twenty years, Adelaide businessman Cosimo Coscia has relied on Richard Jay to deliver a state-of-the-art fleet of commercial laundry equipment at his four laundromats – one fitted out with entirely Electrolux Professional washers and dryers, and the rest with a mix of commercial and coin-operated laundry machinery.

As an investor who needed to fill an empty shop in one of his Adelaide shopping centres, Cosimo approached Richard Jay in 2000 with the idea of putting a laundromat in the space. Partnering with Richard Jay from the earliest stages of his business, the venture was so successful that Richard Jay’s now provided the design, machine selection and installation, testing, training and servicing of equipment for three further laundromats – providing Cosimo with an income that doesn’t rely on employing people or even his own presence in store.

On top of Richard Jay’s comprehensive machinery service, the team anticipated Cosimo’s needs with the installation of auto-detergent feed dispensers – technology that allows for liquid detergent to be pumped into every wash-cycle, resulting in less for customers to think about, reduced in-store mess and the removal of problems caused by over-sudsing.

Within the latest laundromat, the eCleanPay cashless payment system was installed. This system enables payment via mobile phone, tap, website or kiosk using credit and debit cards – meaning customers don’t need to remember coins and the lack of cash inside the laundromat reduces the risk of break-ins. The eCleanPay system is tailored to both customer and business satisfaction, giving Cosimo the added ability to remotely operate his machines. This means that, on the extremely rare occasion a machine breaks down, customers can contact Cosimo and he can restart the machine from a distance – conveniently saving himself and his customers crucial time.

“Richard Jay knows this industry,” says Cosimo. “Whenever I have a question, if they can’t answer it, they will get someone to answer it for me… If anyone wants to get into the laundromat business, I definitely recommend Richard Jay. They really do know their stuff.”
