The Electrolux Professional WB6 Barrier Washer range (WB6-20, WB6-27, WB6-35) is purpose-built for healthcare and other hygiene-critical laundry environments, where dirty and clean sides of the laundry must be kept strictly separated. ERGOCERT-certified for ergonomics, the range combines effortless operation with rigorous infection control.
A watchdog system prevents cross-contamination between the loading (dirty) and unloading (clean) sides, and the flat, easy-clean design helps prevent bacteria propagation — protecting your business and the people you serve. External doors feature vertical hinges with a 175° opening and are reversible, while automatic drum positioning, drum locking, and door locking maximise operator safety and ergonomics during loading and unloading. Large inner drum doors make handling linen easier than ever.
The Compass Pro® controller offers 40 factory and 15 customisable wash programs, all optimised for the lowest possible water, energy and detergent consumption. High extraction force and Power Balance technology maximise dewatering in real time, saving money and time in the drying process, and the range is compatible with up to 13 detergent signals to support even the most complex wash programs. With OnE Laundry connectivity, operators can monitor equipment status and performance from anywhere, supporting hygiene validation, process management and revenue management.
Available in 20kg, 27kg and 35kg capacities with electric, steam, or gas heating alternatives, the WB6 range is ideal for hospitals, aged care facilities, and other healthcare laundries where infection control is non-negotiable.

What capacities are available in the WB6 range?
The WB6 range comes in three sizes: WB6-20 (20kg/44lb), WB6-27 (27kg/60lb), and WB6-35 (35kg/77lb), all sharing a 770mm drum diameter and 910rpm extraction speed.
How does the WB6 prevent cross-contamination?
As a barrier washer, the WB6 loads from a “dirty” side and unloads from a separate “clean” side, using a watchdog system to prevent contaminated items from crossing over. Its flat design also makes cleaning easier and helps prevent bacteria propagation.
What heating options are available?
Each model offers electric, steam, or gas heating alternatives, with heating power scaling by size, for example, electric heating ranges from 13.5kW on the WB6-20 up to 27kW on the WB6-35, while gas heating is 40kW across the range.
How does the Compass Pro controller help with daily operation?

How does the WB6 save on water and energy?
Programs are optimised for the lowest possible consumption, and Power Balance technology corrects load unbalance and adjusts extraction G-force in real time, maximising dewatering to reduce drying time and cost. Optional Integrated Savings can further adjust water levels to the actual linen weight.
How noisy is the WB6 during operation?
All three models have an airborne sound level of 72 dB(A), measured to ISO 60704.
Is professional installation required?
Yes. Installation involves water, steam or gas (depending on heating option), drainage, and electrical connections, with a recommended fuse rating of up to 3 x 50A on the largest model. Can I monitor the washer remotely?
