Aged care

Safe and hygienic laundry for aged-care facilities

Total hygiene control for aged care facilities

At Richard Jay, we’ve been helping aged care facilities across Australia implement strict hygiene controls in their laundries for many years, and our expertise informs the steps we take to keep residents safe. These include:

  • Clearly defining the dirty and clean areas of a laundry, in conjunction with promoting the barrier concept from Electrolux Professional.
  • Using different coloured trollies to help sort and manage laundry:
    • Red for dirty
    • Yellow for foul
    • Blue for clean.
  •  Implementing remote reporting tools such as JayCloud to manage and record thermal disinfection, along with flow-rate verification and drum-level monitoring for chemicals.
  • Verifying hygiene programs through RISE, ensuring disinfection is achieved and verified through a third party with our Global Disinfection programs.

Ongoing asset management

We understand purchasing new equipment is a costly process. That’s why, once an asset’s installed, we implement proper asset management via our advanced customer care software – letting us track and report on each asset.

Our outstanding customer care team is the backbone of our business, ensuring the supplied solution delivers clean and hygienic laundry for 10-20 years.

Preventative maintenance agreements are customised and tailored to suit your business. Rather than simply checking components are in working order, we go a step further and deep-clean appliances to ensure they’re kept like-new for their serviceable life.

Health & safety

Ergocert Certification as standard

We understand the physical demands of working in laundries and stain bodies due to regular repetitive motions, so we make sure all the washers, dryers and ironers we supply to aged care laundries are Ergocert Certified. This independent company ensures we meet the highest standards with a human-centred approach to the solutions we offer.

Integrated weighing system

Ensuring the correct load in every wash

Available in all washers that have Clarus Vibe control enabled, the integrated weighing system uses load cells to weigh the detergent dosing, water levels and energy usage in every load – meaning operators can no longer over- or under-load equipment. This innovation guarantees maximum efficiency in every cycle, and therefore minimises ongoing costs.

A wide range of parts

Although our service technicians carry most common parts as van stock, as a company we also have the largest spare parts inventory in Australia – meaning we can respond quickly to the needs of customers and keep equipment running smoothly, 365 days per year.

As Electrolux Professional’s largest dealer in APAC, we have the economies of scale to keep a wide and unmatched range of parts on the shelf.

Experts in cost-effective reliability

We’ve been supplying equipment to aged care laundries throughout Australia for decades – carefully selecting brands that will cope reliably in demanding environments. Our solutions aren’t just proven in-market – they’re well respected for offering the lowest total cost of ownership over the machine’s life.

The benefits of heat pump drying

Increasingly popular in laundries throughout Australia, heat pump dryers are a sustainable option for facilities looking to reduce their energy consumption.

Using 60% less energy than ducted dryers, this innovative tech can result in electric heat pump dryers being more cost-effective than gas dryers – delivering ongoing savings at bill time.
